Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy
CHANGE IS POSSIBLE
I will use a range of therapeutic modalities in our work together, depending on the nature of what you are bringing to therapy. I work not only with your thoughts, feelings, memories and beliefs but also include an awareness of what is happening in your body, as this can provide greater understanding of how past experiences may have wounded you and are therefore shaping how you feel and behave today. My goal is help you gain greater understanding, explore these wounds in a safe and controlled way, to allow you to heal and discover another way of being.
I am a Graduate of 3 years training in Hakomi Mindfulness-Based Somatic Psychotherapy.
Hakomi is a powerful transformative therapy that works from a mindful space, holding curiosity about our internal world including our body sensations, urges, thoughts, feelings memories and beliefs. By working with the whole system, using more than just talking, we can begin to see how what we have experienced in the past has shaped us, and this enables these wounds to be healed and true change to occur.

I have also completed Level 1 and 2 of the Innate Somatic Intelligence Trauma Therapy Approach (ISITTA). This approach works with the Autonomous Nervous System to somatically re-program where it has become stuck
when experiencing trauma.
I have completed all levels of training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT). This is an attachment based therapeutic approach which works towards understanding and holding compassion for the drivers of our behaviours in relationships. We can work to heal these drivers, often based on traumatic experiences in childhood, to enable a deeper more positive connection towards our partners and significant others.

I originally trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) a treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder.
DBT is highly effective in gaining greater understanding and management of emotional outbursts, providing skills to enable more effective interpersonal communication and ways to increase your capacity to tolerate distress. DBT develops higher levels of self awareness, creating more choices and allowing you to feel more in control.
I am comfortable working with people who identify as culturally and linguistically diverse and LGBTIQA+.

I can offer therapy sessions face to face from my private practice in Daylesford Victoria,
or remotely by video conference or phone.
